Penn Quaker Courage (PQC) is the product of converging groups of University of Pennsylvania alumni and students based on shared concern for academic freedom at our alma mater.
Sharon Strauss (CAS ’85), Shobhana Kanal (CAS/GAS ’84), and Constance Billé (C.W. ’68) founded PQC in the Fall of 2025, in the midst of an ongoing federal campaign for ideological influence over academic and student life at Penn. They were soon joined by other engaged alumni, a contingent of current Penn Law students, and by Wharton-alumni organizers of Alumni for Freedom and Democracy.
PQC is now led by an Executive Committee with representatives from among these founding alumni, students, and organizations. Our efforts are in partnership with Alumni for Freedom and Democracy, Stand for Campus Freedom, and our allied organizations from other universities.
We invite you to join our work to preserve academic freedom at Penn.
